RedTube Movie Ripper Help Version 3.6.0 and earlier

Getting Started:

About Vers 3.6.0:

Version 3.6.0 reverts back to a single EXE install that should work for operating systems XP/Vista/2000.

The previous version 3.5.0 had 2 exes (one for XP/2000 and one for Vista and is still available below if 3.6.0 does not work for you.)

Version 3.6.0 adds a new Option to create a video Playlist which allows the player to move from one video to the next automatically or by manually clicking the arrows on the player control bar. Right click the Ripped Files menu for this option.

This help assumes you have tried the program's FREE trial and just need further clarification on functionality. The program contains built-in help by using the Options menu and by reading the tool tips that appear over each object (buttons, lists, etc) in the program's window as you move your mouse around the Window.

This program assumes you are familiar with using RedTube.com functionality. It's purpose is to allow you to download (rip) movies from RedTube.com and save them on your hard drive or Flash drive to play while not connected to the internet. Quick access to RedTube Search Functionality, Previewing capabilities through the RedTube site, Download (Rip Movie) capabilities of the movies you preview during your Searches, downloaded file management, and a built-in Flash Movie (FLV) Player to playback the movies you download.

Free Trial and Purchasing and Activating a License:

The FREE trial consists of 5 movies selected that are not as 'hard core' as redTube offers to keep any minors from being affected. These appear in the Movies Previewed on RedTube List. Note that movies on the Auto Capturing IDS list (middle list) are the movies that are listed on RedTube when you move around the RedTube site with the internal browser. All movies that appear can be downloaded with a License and there is NO filtering of content.

When you attempt to download a movie that requires a license you will prompted to either purchase or enter your license for activation. After a license has been activated (saved on your PC) you can download all movies and the license does not have to be entered again. Tabs were added (Current Movie, RedTube.com, ScreenShots). These 3 tabs allow you to view Your Movies, RedTube.com, and Thumbs independently of each other. Click a Tab label to move from tab to tab.

SPECIAL NOTE:
From time to time you may receive a Script Error from the internal browser in the application. These are caused by various ADS that are generated by RedTube.com that will not execute on your PC. If you were using an external browser these ADS would probably execute. Refresing the internal browser with the Refresh button may correct this problem for you. What do you do when one of these script errors pop up and ask you if you want to 'Continue running scripts on this page?'? Just click NO and the script will disappear. In fact, if you click yes they will still disappear and still not execute. There is no way I can eliminate this, so if it annoys you, remember it also annoys me :)


Downloading RedTube Movies:

There are 4 ways to Rip a movie using the program.
Click the Options button and select the Help for Download Options that explains the 4 methods.

Internal Redtube Browser and Movie Links and easiest Rip Method:

When the program 1st appears you are at the RedTube.com site (Today's New Movies page). The Main Control Panel will be visible showing the current movies you have ripped, Movies you have previewed, and the middle list view which is Automatically finding the Movie Titles and IDs on the browser page you are viewing at RedTube.com. As you move around RedTube using this internal browser you will see the Links to movies appear in the Auto-Capturing Ids list. Click the list for menu options to display Thumbs, or Rip the movie. The titles of the movies in the list are the same titles of the movies on the RedTube.com page you are viewing.

Playing a Ripped Movie:

After your files have been downloaded they will appear in the 'Ripped Movies' List. To Play a file simply click the File name in the List. To Stop a Movie click the 'Stop Movie' button. To play a movie in Full Screen, move your mouse over the movie and click the Full Screen Button on the movie controller when it appears. You may click this button again to exit full screen or press the ESC key. This program has a built in Flash Movie Player to play the files you download in FLV format. To play the movies outside of this program you must use a FLV player similar to the one built-in to this program or convert the file to another format supported by a different player. The FLV files can be burned to CD or DVD to save and played with an FLV movie player or other players after files are converted to the supported type of the player you wish to use.

Managing Ripped Movies and new Options added :

Options menu button contains several options, some new, and some updated.

'Select a New or Old Movie Storage location' option allows changing or creating more than one folder to save your movies to or play from. Now you can store on other drives besides C:. Make sure the drive has file permissions to write to it. Note that any folder (or drive) you select will be tested to see if files can be written. Under the folder or drive you select as a root, two folders, 'My Media\Ripped FLV Files', will be created to hold your movies.
